Dear Clients and Friends,
As Hurricane Irma threatens South Florida, Waldman Barnett urges you to heed the warnings of emergency managers and prepare for the storm.
Irma is potentially catastrophic and steps should be taken now to minimize your risk and to ensure your safety. This action will no doubt also reduce the anxiety you likely feel as newscasts share the forecast track across the Florida peninsula.
To help you prepare, we’ve pulled together the following helpful links for reference before, during and after the storm. Since electricity and connectivity may be limited, we suggest printing this material now for future reference.
Hurricane Preparedness Checklist (Department of Homeland Security)
Storm-Tracking and Advisories (National Hurricane Center)
Closings and Evacuations (Miami-Dade Emergency Operations)
Find a Shelter (American Red Cross)
Emergency Financial Preparedness Toolkit (Florida Department of Financial Services)
Disaster Assistance (Federal Emergency Management Agency, FEMA)
Florida Disaster Response (Florida Division of Emergency Management)
Insurance Complaints (Florida Department of Financial Services, Division of Consumer Services)
Our office closed at 12 noon today and will remain closed Friday, September 8 to allow our staff to prepare for the storm. We will not have computer access owing to the protective measures we need to take to insure we are back up and running as soon as possible after Irma passes through. We will notify you when we will resume normal business operations.
Be safe and informed.
The Waldman Barnett Team
